APV Heating Services was appointed to upgrade the ground floor heating system of a four-bedroom property in Pembury as part of a wider home renovation and extension project. The property previously relied on radiators throughout, and the homeowner wanted to improve comfort levels while achieving a cleaner, more modern finish.
At the same time, the property was undergoing significant improvements, including a new rear extension, a brand-new kitchen and utility room, and the installation of a new boiler.
The key objectives were to:
The existing radiator pipework on the first floor needed to remain operational, but all redundant pipework on the ground floor had to be discreetly removed from view. Careful planning was required to cap and conceal the old pipework beneath the first-floor structure so that no outdated pipework was visible.
Additionally, the existing concrete ground floor meant a traditional screed system was not practical.
APV Heating Services designed and installed a wet underfloor heating system using an overlay board system, which was fixed directly onto the original concrete floor. This approach:
The new rear extension was fully incorporated into the underfloor heating design to ensure consistent warmth across both the original footprint and the new living space.
A new energy-efficient boiler was installed in the newly created utility room, providing reliable heating and hot water for the entire property.
For a neat and practical finish, the underfloor heating manifold was carefully positioned inside one of the new kitchen cupboards, keeping it accessible for servicing while discreetly hidden from view.
The completed installation delivered:
The homeowner was extremely pleased with both the performance and finish of their new boiler and underfloor heating system, a successful renovation project delivered smoothly and professionally by APV Heating Services.
